Legal advice and Duty Solicitor Referral Scheme
The AMA (NSW) Medico-Legal division handles most legal enquiries including those relating to privacy, medical records and subpoenas. For more complex matters members may subsequently be referred to TressCox, our affiliated legal firm. Members are entitled to a free 20-minute telephone conference or a one-hour free face-to-face consultation (depending on the nature of the enquiry) with TressCox lawyers as part of their membership. Members should note that the scheme can only be accessed by telephoning the AMA (NSW) in the first instance on (02) 9439 8822.
